Former SMU students

Former Saint Mary’s students whose studies were interrupted and who wish to return to Saint Mary’s to complete their degree are required to reapply through the Admissions Office. If you have attended another post-secondary institution since leaving Saint Mary’s you will need to reapply as a transfer applicant. If you have not attended another university or college since last studying at Saint Mary’s, please read the below information carefully.

Students can apply to have their student status Reactivated if they have been away from Saint Mary’s for less than four years and are returning to the same program. Applicants are required to meet all conditions for reactivation outlined in the university calendar.

Students are considered for Readmission if they have been away from Saint Mary’s for four or more years, or if they are applying for a different program than the one they left. Those who wish to return to a different program are required to meet the minimum core course requirements for their intended program and meet the university’s requirements for readmission.

To apply for reactivation or readmission:

  1. Complete the online application. Make sure to include information on what you’ve been doing since leaving Saint Mary’s.
  2. Be sure to indicate that you’ve attended Saint Mary’s University in the past. Include your student ID number, if you have it.
  3. Submit any other documents requested by the Admissions Office on your application portal.
