The GRI is an inspiring research community and researchers affiliated with us undertake a range of research projects which foster a broader awareness of what and how Atlantic Canada is. Our researchers come from a range of disciplines and many undertake interdisciplinary work in ways that advance scholarship and expand relationships between universities and local communities. Our visiting fellows and research associates enjoy individual workspaces, access to library facilities and databases and administrative and IT support.
We welcome researchers at the post-doctoral level including sabbaticants, and visiting and independent scholars. We also offer a series of grants to develop collaborations between SMU researchers and external collaborators, and to support external community-led and based projects. For more information on establishing a research affiliation please contact Dr. S. Karly Kehoe.
