The Sobey School of Business Master of Finance (MFin) program is a challenging, demanding and rigorous program in which you will gain the strategic financial skills that global employers demand. The Sobey MFin effectively prepares graduates for professional careers in:

  • Corporate finance

The program will thoroughly prepare you for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)® exams. In just one year, you will have the tools and confidence to achieve career success in a highly competitive field. The Sobey MFin program is a formal CFA® Affiliate.

Admission Requirements

  • A four year university degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, engineering, physics, computer science, economics or other mathematical discipline with an overall minimum average of B;
  • An average score across all quantitative courses of:
    • 75% for applicants with engineering, physics, computer science and mathematics degrees
    • 80% for applicants with business degrees
    • 85% for applicants with economics and international trade degrees
  • For applicants whose first language is not English or who did not graduate from an English medium university, a minimum English proficiency score of:
    • IELTS 6.5 with no individual band score below 6.0
    • or equivalent
    • Conditional Acceptance may be granted if language requirements are not met at time of application.
    • Pre-MFin program is also available for meeting language proficiency requirements.
