Helpful Hints
- When choosing classes, plan in advance and create a timetable. Visit "How Do I Make A Timetable" to get started.
- Write down the CRN’s (5 digit number) for classes you wish to register in before you register rather than doing class searches during peak registration periods when the system runs slower.
- We recommend you register for both fall and winter term courses at the same time.
- Courses that end in XX and YY are full year courses. XX indicates the fall term and YY the winter term. You must register for both parts at the same time.
- The more information you enter in "Class Search", the fewer number of results will be retrieved.
- For courses in a particular subject, select only the subject in your search.
- e.g. Select Accounting to retrieve all Accounting courses offered in the term.
- For a specific course, select the subject and enter the course number.
- e.g. Select Accounting and enter 2241 in the course number to retrieve only ACCT 2241 sections.
- Refer to the Academic Calendar for course descriptions and required pre-requisites.
- Many courses at the 2000 level or higher will have prerequisites. This means the professor has planned the course assuming you have passed another course. If you do not have the pre-requisites you will not be able to register in the course.
- You can register for a winter course with a pre-requisite, as long as you are enrolled in the pre-requisite in the fall term.
- e.g. You can register for SOCI 1211 in the winter term, as long as you are registered for SOCI 1210 in the fall.
- Most courses in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, and Physics have mandatory labs. Mathematics courses have recitations. Both are opportunities to practice and apply the materials covered in the lectures. You must register in both the course and the lab/recitation at the same time.
