Co-operatives UK

We are excited to announce a new partnership between CEARC and Co-operatives UK to adapt ACT.coop for use by co-operatives across the United Kingdom. Building on the Canadian platform, this collaboration will equip UK co-operatives with a practical tool to measure, manage, and communicate their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the co-operative principles.

The UK trade body for the sector, Co-operatives UK, reported in 2025 that there are 7,391 co-operatives worth a combined annual income of £42.7bn, serving 16.6 million members and employing almost 240,000 people – making them a significant force in the UK economy. 

Development of the UK version is now underway – made possible thanks to Co-operatives UK's partnership with The Co-operative Bank, which has grant funded the project. Both the Canadian and UK editions of ACT are expected to launch in early 2027. This milestone represents an important step in expanding ACT internationally and supporting co-operatives in demonstrating their social, environmental, and economic impact.
