Wadih M. Fares is President of W.M. Fares Group ? a residential and commercial property management and development firm with building projects throughout Canada.

With more than 25 years of experience, Fares has been involved in every aspect of building design, project management and development. His company brings together all the disciplines involved in development projects so his clients don?t have to deal with the multiple contractors. For as long as he has been developing the buildings in which people live and work, he has worked to develop the communities united within them.

As a Lebanese immigrant, he believes strongly in celebrating the unique talents and contributions everyone brings to their community, province and country. He exemplifies this by giving back through a wide range of professional and volunteer roles, including: Honorary Consul of Lebanon for the Maritime Provinces; chairman for the Pier 21 Society; member of the board of Directors for the Halifax International airport Authority; Waterfront Development corporation Limited; Minister?s Immigration Advisory council; Premier?s Economic Advisory panel; Dalhousie University Board of Governors; founder and honorary member of the Canadian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce.

Fares has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia and a Diploma of Engineering from Dalhousie University.

He has also been recognized for his many achievements. He received the Atlantic business Magazine?s top 50 CEO Award for 2008 and 2009; the Business to Consumer Ernst & Young?s Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2008; was inducted into the Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame in 2008; and was chosen the 2007 Canadian Businessman of the Year by the Canadian-Lebanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also received the Saint Mary?s University Associate Alumni Award in 2007.

The honorary degree from Saint Mary?s recognizes Fares? leadership, his dedication to building strong communities and his commitment to business excellence.
