Banner SelfService System Maintenance Scheduled

EIT will be performing Banner system maintenance on Saturday January 23 from 9AM until 4PM. As a result, Banner SelfService will be unavailable during this time. Banner Admin pages will continue to be functional.

Storage Upgrade Concluded

EIT will be conducting maintenance which will cause an outage to many services as we expand storage capacity. The following is an overview of the projected impact to critical services:
Brightspace - no impact
Banner Self Service - no impact
Banner Admin Pages - outage
Email Internal SMU (@smu.ca to @smu.ca) - no impact
Email External SMU - outage, email will be delayed but not lost
Website - no impact
BOE - no impact

Firewall and WiFi Maintenance Concluded

EIT will be conducting maintenance to resolve issues with our Firewalls and WiFi which will cause brief service disruptions as testing is conducted. Any inquiries during this period can be directed to telecom@smu.ca or the EIT Helpdesk at helpdesk@smu.ca.

EIT will be performing system maintenance on many devices and servers on Saturday 9 January 2021, between 7am and 2pm. This will cause brief interruptions to some campus services due to server or system reboots. Services that may be affected include:

Website Maintenance Concluded

Maintenance on the website will be conducted starting at 3 PM on Friday 18 December 2020. There should be no interruption to service. Any inquiries should be directed to digital@smu.ca.

DegreeWorks Update Concluded

EIT will be performing Degree Works system maintenance on Thursday, December 18 from 8am until 11 am. As a result, Degree Works will be unavailable during that time.

SMUPort Maintenance Concluded

SMUport will be temporarily unavailable starting this weekend, Saturday, December 12 at 11:00 pm for system maintenance.

Faculty members, students and staff who use SMUport for document storage are encouraged to access these items outside of this window.

UPDATE: Due to ongoing technical issues the window will need to be extended. We are still assessing and working towards resolution.

Banner System Maintenance Concluded

EIT will be performing Banner system maintenance from Friday November 27 at 3pm until Sunday November 29 at 5pm. As a result, Banner Admin Pages, SelfService Banner and Activate will be unavailable during that time.

SMUport will continue to work, but any links into Banner will return an error until the maintenance is completed.

SMUport, Wifi Issues Concluded

EIT is aware and working on a resolution to the login issues with SMUport and wifi.
