Centre of Excellence in Accounting and Reporting for Co-operatives

The Centre of Excellence in Accounting and Reporting for Co-operatives (CEARC) was created based on the understanding that the co-operative business model, with its unique business purpose, values and principles, is not adequately served by the same approach to accounting used by investor-driven firms. CEARC grew out of the needs of the Co-operative Management Education program at Saint Mary's University for research and curriculum materials suitable for educating co-operative managers.

2nd International Symposium on Accounting and Reporting: Co-operative Socio-economic Transformation - June 25 & 26, 2018, London, UK

The Centre of Excellence in Accounting and Reporting (CEARC) and the Co-operative Management Education (CME) program co-hosted the 2nd International Symposium on Accounting and Reporting, London, UK.  The Symposium was comprised of The Symposium was comprised of 25 experts from 8 countries representing 19 institutions and focused on leading practices for co-operative accounting and reporting. Social and Environmental Key Performance Indicators

CEARC is working with the co-operative sector to develop social and environmental indicators. We are currently looking for up to 50 additional pariticipants in our pilot project.
