Dr. Javid Taheri is associate professor of economics at Saint Mary's University. He received his Ph.D. degree in economics from Dalhousie University, M.A. in economics from York University and B.Sc. (5 Year) in national development (concentration in economics) from Pahlavi (now Shiraz) University in Iran.

Dr. Taheri has taught courses in principles of economics, money and banking, international economics, advanced microeconomics, economics for MBA program, and intermediate and advanced macroeconomics. His research is in macroeconomics, especially in connection with the questions of the unemployment/inflation nexus, downward rigidity of nominal wages and prices and macroeconomic aspects of the Iranian economy. Dr. Taheri has published articles in the Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, Canadian Journal of Economics, Journal of Applied Economics, and Atlantic Canada Economic Association Papers and Proceedings. He has coauthored two test banks for textbooks in principles of economics and intermediate macroeconomics.

Dr. Taheri is also one of the founding faculty members of MBA (Financial Services) program at Dalhousie University. He has written the manual for, and has taught the Business Economics course in this program.
