Phase One Campus Reopening
Updated June 9, 2021
As the Nova Scotia Government proceeds with its reopening plan, Saint Mary’s University is beginning a phased approach to reopening campus. For Phase One of our formal reopening plan, the university is now encouraging faculty and staff to return to campus, consistent with your department’s staffing plans and social distancing requirements.
Starting on June 10, faculty and staff offices and labs are available for use; restrictions still apply to common areas. Any faculty and staff member who was permitted to be on campus prior to the April 28 – June 2, 2021 lockdown can return to campus, as long as this is consistent with your department’s current space plan. If you are not sure, please consult with your manager to ensure returning to campus is appropriate in your case and current social distancing guidelines.
Campus Mask Policy
Students, staff, faculty and visitors are required to wear a mask at all times while inside university buildings, with some exceptions. Please visit the New COVID-19 Restrictions page for more information.
Consistent with the Nova Scotia guidelines, meetings are restricted to groups no larger than five people.
All staff and faculty are reminded to continue to use the Saint Mary’s University check-in and check-out. This is important for the health and safety of our community.
The university wants to thank those who have continued to come to campus and work over the fourteen months. You have followed the public health guidelines, and the university’s health and safety procedures. As a result, we are now in a position to return more people to campus safely.
We will continue to update the university community regarding the further phases of return to campus.
