My goal: To make African Descent/Black students feel welcomed into Saint Mary’s community. Many students are reluctant to attend university due to the fear of black alienation, limited support and resources, and the feeling that they can’t see themselves in this space. However, my hope is to alleviate those thoughts and feelings, and for students to know that they will have access to equal opportunities despite their cultural background and socioeconomic status.
