The course will mainly use games and story reading to teach young students to learn some basic Chinese characters.

Upon successful completion of this course which includes about 35 classes,20 for the winter semester and 15 for fall semester, the students will be able to：

本课程主要通过游戏和读故事教小朋友认识基础的汉字。

本课程共计34周，冬季学期20周，秋季学期14周，每周一次课，每次课60分钟。完成后，学生应该能够：

1. Recognize 100-120 Chinese Characters.
2. Know the basic structures of Chinese characters and know some of the basic radicals.
3. Express their demand in Chinese clearly.
4. Sing 5 Chinese Children’s songs.
5. Recite 15 Chinese Poems.

Requirement: Can recognize 1000 Chinese Characters. Roughly the same level of a Chinese grade 2primary school student.

要求：认识1500个汉字，会写1200个左右。大概相当于中国小学二年级学生水平。

Age of the student: 9-11years old.

年龄：9-11岁。

Upon successful completion of thiscoursewhich includes about 35 classes,20 for winter semester and 15 for fall semester, the students will be able to：

本课程共计34周，冬季学期20周，秋季学期14周，每周一次课，每次课90分钟。完成后，学生应该能够：

1. Read and write at least300 Chinese Characters.
2. Analyze synonym sand antonymsin Chinese.
3. Express personal views clearly in Chinese.
4. Understand the contents of the textbook in Chinese.
5. Read the texts silently and have some independent thinking during the reading process.
6. Read children's books with Pinyin.
7. Use Chinese punctuations correctly.
8. write short narratives and letters about 200 Chinese Characters.
9. Have a basic knowledge of 10 Chinese idiom stories.
10. Recite 25 Chinese Poems.

Requirement: Can recognize 1800 Chinese Characters, can write about 1500 Chinese characters. Roughly the same level of a Chinese grade 3 primary school student.

要求：认识1800个汉字，会写1500个左右。大概相当于中国小学三年级学生水平。

Upon successful completion of this course which includes about 35 classes,20 for the winter semester and 15 for the fall semester, the students will be able to：

本课程共计34周，冬季学期20周，秋季学期14周，每周一次课，每次课90分钟。完成后，学生应该能够：

1. Read and write 350 more Chinese Characters.
2. Analyze synonyms in Chinese.
3. Make a clear statement of something in Chinese.
4. Retell a story from the textbook in Chinese.
5. Understand complex sentences in Chinese.
6. Point out the topic sentence in a paragraph. Understand the connections between paragraphs.
7. Read and understand books for juveniles.
8. Use Chinese punctuations correctly.
9. Write short narratives, essays, and letters about 400 Chinese Characters.
10. Recite 35 Chinese Poems.
