Student Leadership Recognition Form Application
Thank you for your interest in the Student Leadership Recognition Award.
The application form will be open from January 8-February 16th 2021. We look forward to receiving your application and supplementary documents at that time.
Apply at career360.smu.ca under "Programs & Awards" (located on the left side of the dashboard). In your application you will submit:
- A Letter of Interest (up to 500 words)
- Your Unofficial Academic Transcript (download from Banner)
- Your Official Co-Curricular Record (please ensure you update your CCR early to ensure all your position requests can be approved before the deadline)
- ONLY one Letter of Recommendation (provided by your supervisor who is affiliated with your leadership activity)
- A resume (optional).
Your application will be evaluated on a ten-dimensional leadership rubric. Your cumulative GPA covers 10% of the application. A Letter of Interest, worth 30%, has two components (quality of writing; arguments to support your application and long-term goals; evidence of professional and personal growth). Your Leadership roles and initiatives over the last 12 months are worth 50%. This includes your on- and off- campus achievements and how your activities have influenced the communities you are involved in. Lastly, the Letter of Recommendation accounts for 10% of the application.
