Programming Assistants

Programming Assistants help the Residence Life Office run smoothly. They are responsible for organizing residence events and programs, coordinating with other student staff, preparing material and equipment for events, and several administrative tasks. Programming Assistants use email, posters, and social media to promote events.


The Residence Life Videographer and Photographer attend events to capture the experience of our residence students! They create event recap videos, promotional videos for upcoming events, bi-weekly Res Top 5 videos, and take photos at events to share the experience on our social media. If you are a Residence student and have videography or photography skills and would like to be paid for them, please contact the Residence Life Office!

Website Editor

The Residence Website Editor edits and updates the content of Residence Life webpages. The Website Editor is responsible for the content and images updated on the website. They plan, research, build and maintain the website once it is live ensuring that all the information is accurate. They assess webpage needs for Res Life staff to ensure all programming coordinated by staff is reflected on the website.

Safer Spaces Coordinator

This staff member educates student leaders on how to create a safe space where students feel comfortable discussing challenging topics, including sexual violence, racism, and other social issues. They create a series of workshops throughout the year for students to take part in. These workshops cover topics such as anti-oppression, 2SLGBTQ+ health, and diversity and are facilitated by professionals from the Halifax community.
