The IMPACT Investment Fund
Manage a portfolio of securities while still in university. Our student-run IMPACT Investment Fund lets you apply business theory to real-world investment challenges, with the advice of practicing investment professionals.
The IMPACT Fund is a two-year program, open to qualifying first-year MBA students or third year BComm students. There is an academic component to this program, and you must apply and be accepted to take part.

Applications should include a cover letter, resume and an unofficial transcript of grades (for undergraduate students grades obtained at Saint Mary's University are sufficient, for MBA students please submit a transcript of grades from previous degrees).

The campaign to recruit new students for the IMPACT Fund has started. Students interested in gaining firsthand experience in investments, portfolio management and wealth management should submit their COMPLETE applications by September 21, 2019. Successful students will join the IMPACT Fund as Research Associates and join the IMPACT Team in managing a portfolio of about $550,000 in financial investments (primarily equity). Students are responsible for portfolio rebalancing, asset allocation, security selection and stock valuation.
The IMPACT program offers unique opportunities to network (series of high caliber guest speakers from the industry, national and international competitions) and for community engagement and volunteering (e.g. Finance-Focused Career Fair & High School Trading Competition).
Interested students must deposit a HARD COPY of their application in SB103, which includes:
- A cover/motivation letter (why you want to join IMPACT)
- CV, and
- Unofficial copy of your transcript
