Why did you choose the MTEI?

The program and courses were appealing to me because I wanted to start my own business. Also the flexible schedule worked great as I was able to maintain employment at my full-time job while studying.

What do you feel you got out of the MTEI?

I think there are many great aspects of the program, and while it may vary depending on each person's perspective, to me, the MTEI program opened the door to a whole new world that I wasn't aware of. For example, the entrepreneurship community in Nova Scotia is so active and engaging, and the MTEI gives you full access to it like no other program. So to me, a great part is the connections you make, the networking and exposure you get, as well as the possibility to compete for seed funding for your project,  like my team SWAP did on the Durland Fund competition and others outside of SMU.

Second, the class diversity and size is perfect ! as you a get a customized attention from all the professors, while you share experiences with people from around the world.

Third - The quality of the classes are outstanding, professors have extraordinary experiences in their fields, always engaging the class, eager to share their knowledge, always pushing your limits and willing to help if you are struggling.

Lastly, the flexibility for someone that is working full time like me, is invaluable !
