BComm alumni win New Business of the Year award

Congratulations to Brad Farquhar (BComm'08) and Joe Power (BComm'11) on winning New Business of the Year at the 2021 Halifax Business Awards.

Brad and Joe are the founders of Purple Cow Internet, the highest rated internet service provider on the East Coast.

In his acceptance speech, Brad said "the willingness of Nova Scotians to support local... has been astounding" and provided the following advice to anyone in Nova Scotia who is "on the fence" about trying to launch a new business:  

"Just go for it. Nova Scotia is filled with amazing people... we are so lucky to live here."

The Halifax Business Awards is the Halifax Chamber of Commerce's annual event celebrating the thriving local business community. You can watch the entire ceremony above. The New Business of the Year Award presentation begins at 34:45, and Brad's acceptance speech begins at 41:23.
