The Atlantic Research Group on Economics of Immigration, Aging and Diversity (ARGEIAD) has released their latest newsletter, which is now available for download.

In this issue:

  • A snapshot of Aboriginal population in the labour force of Canada and Atlantic Canada in 2016
  • Immigration in the Maritime Provinces: new realities, policy challenges posed by the current pandemic and response
  • Research, Publications And Outreach Events

ARGEIAD was established to promote research and mobilize knowledge focusing on the economic significance of immigration, diversity and aging.

“Evidence-based research is important for policymakers to make the best decisions for Nova Scotians. They need to have a clear picture of what attracts immigrants to this province and what is their experience,” says Dr. Ather Akbari, Chair of ARGEIAD. “My research helps to form a picture of the Nova Scotian immigrant experience, the successes and the areas that may need some changes."
