Declare a Major/Minor
Hints:
Plan early to ensure you complete your degree on schedule with your desired major or minor.
Ask for help: Each faculty has many options to choose from and they each offer academic advising. Visit their links below.
Remember if you:
- Change your mind - most students change their major or minor at least once but keep in mind your academic requirements are governed by the regulations in effect at the time you declare your major or minor. If you switch, you may be under different regulations.
- Change your faculty - you must declare your major again.
- Change to 3-year Arts or Science Degree - Declare your concentration at the same time
- Declare a minor – Use the same form as for a major (details below)
When to declare a Major: Each Faculty is Different
Bachelor of Arts - No later than the completion of 60 credit hours (usually by the end of the second year for full-time students).
Bachelor of Commerce - After earning 45 credit hours and you must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
