Click the Personal Information tab in Self Service where you can select to view or change:

Address Types:
Permanent Address:

All students are required to maintain a permanent address and therefore cannot update or delete their permanent address in Self Service Banner.

International students must have a permanent address from their home country in Self Service plus a local mailing address.
Mailing Address:
-
Students who live away from their permanent address can provide a mailing address provided they maintain a permanent address.

Mailing addresses can be updated online in Self Service.
Residence Address:
-
Addresses provided by the Residence Department for students living in Residence for the academic year.

Excludes Family Housing apartments.

Addresses are automatically inactivated on the system on April 30 of each year.

A permanent address must also be provided.

How do I change my permanent address?

Submit a “Change of Address” form to the Service Centre in McNally Main 108. Forms can also be submitted by fax (902) 420-5151 or mail.

Send an email to service.centre@smu.ca with your full name, student number, date or birth, complete address and phone number. Address change requests must come from an email address you have on Self Service Banner.
How do I change my mailing address?

Mailing addresses can be updated by you through Self Service Banner but remember you must also have a permanent address.
When will my address be deactivated by Saint Mary’s University?
- If mail is returned
or
- A specific end date is entered
What happens if I do not have an address on file with Saint Mary’s University?

A registration hold will be placed on your account until a permanent address is provided.
Where will my mail be sent?

The Service Centre generally sends mail using the following address sequence:

Mailing, if there is no mailing address we send mail to:

Under certain circumstances, such as the mailing of winter statements in December, the permanent address is the first choice.
