About the SMU Retirees Association

The Memorandum of the Association

A. The Name of the Society is SAINT MARY'S UNIVERSITY RETIREES ASSOCIATION .

B. The Objects of the Society are as follows:

    1. To organize such activities and events as shall further the social and intellectual enjoyment of its members;
    2. To represent and to promote to the University community and to the public the interests of retirees from Saint Mary's University and their spouses/partners;
    3. To further the understanding of the retirement pension arrangements of Saint Mary's University and of the post-retirement arrangements available to former employees and staff of the University; and
    4. To cooperate with other formal and informal groups that have similar objectives.
C. The activities of the Association are to be carried out primarily, but not exclusively, in Nova Scotia . All profits and other revenues of the Association shall be used solely to promote its objectives.

D. The registered office of the Association is: Department of History, St. Mary's University, 923 Robie Street, Halifax , Nova Scotia , B3H 3C3 .

E. The recognized agent of the Association is Marlene Singer.
