By Car
By car, when traveling from the North and/or from the Halifax International Airport travel along Highway 102 (Bicentennial Drive) which will bring you to downtown Halifax via Bayers Road. Participants driving from the northeast US will find the best route to be through the Canadian/US border at St. Stephen and Calais.
Directions:
- Highway 102 inbound. This will end at Bayers Road
- Go straight ahead staying in the right lane; go to the third set of traffic lights and take a right turn on Connaught Avenue
- In the left lane continue to the third set of traffic lights and take a left turn on Quinpool Road
- To hotel locations:
- Holiday Inn:
- The Holiday Inn is located on the corner of Quinpool Road and Robie St.
- Continue straight ahead on Quinpool Road to the third set of traffic lights. Take a right turn on Robie Street and the entrance will be on the right.
- Lord Nelson Hotel:
- Go straight ahead continuing through the third set of traffic lights at Robie St. (this is a large intersection) which separates.
- In the middle-right lane go on to Bell Road and through two sets of lights which will change to South Park St.
- Drive past the CBC building and YMCA. The Lord Nelson entrance is on the left in this block.
To SMU campus: 923 Robie St.
- From The Holiday Inn:
- Turn right on to Robie St. Continue through five sets of lights passing through the Inglis St. intersection. The university is on your left.
- From The Lord Nelson Hotel:
- Turn left on to South Park St . Go through three sets of lights; continue to the 4-way stop at Inglis St. Turn right on to Inglis St. Go through one set of lights; at the second set turn left on to Robie St . The university is on your left.
The Saint Mary's University campus is located at 923 Robie Street south of the Inglis Street intersection.
Parking on campus on Friday requires a parking permit. If a parking pass is required be prepared to provide your license plate number.

By air, Halifax Stanfield International Airport has daily arrivals, some with connecting flights, from many North American and European cities. For information visit: www.hiaa.ca Those returning directly to the US from Halifax need to clear US Customs before boarding.
By Train
By train, VIA Rail provides train service to the rest of Canada, with connections to US Amtrak. The train station is located in the south end of Halifax just minutes from Saint Mary's campus. For more information call: 1-800-561-3952 or visit www.viarail.ca
