Apartment Inspection Report

You can use this form as a guideline for inspecting your apartment. After you have completed the inspection, be sure that both you and the Landlord have a signed copy of the form.

Why should I inspect the apartment/room?

When you move into your apartment, the Landlord will likely ask for a security deposit, which will be returned to you at the end of your lease - if there are no damages to the apartment/room. An inspection is a way to verify for both yourself and your landlord, the state of your apartment/room when you move in. It is used to measure the apartment/room when you move out. You and your landlord should be present when inspecting the premises, and the form should be signed immediately.

Make sure that you have everything in writing. You may complete the move in and move out inspections with different people. If you have everything in writing, you'll be able to physically prove yourself in the event of a dispute.
