Sackville
Sackville, located just 5 minutes from Bedford, is comprised of four regions; Middle, Lower, and Upper Sackville and Beaverbank. Lower Sackville is the central area, where a majority of the commercial ventures take place. Here you will find restaurants, most businesses, a pool, rinks, and most other amenities. Middle and Upper Sackville are the main residential areas. Homes here generally have a large property area, and lots of privacy.
About 35,000 people live in the combined Sackville area and most of them commute to Halifax/Dartmouth to work. Sackville has two major grocery stores, a shopping mall, a few strip malls, an indoor multi-sport complex, a golf course, and several parks.
Getting to Saint Mary's
Much the same as Bedford, people commuting to the city will either drive their own vehicle, or take the number 80 bus and transfer in the city. From the 80, most students will connect with the #17 along Robie St. and arrive at the University within 40-50 minutes. Please see Metro Transit for more detail.
