Renowned Development Economist Talks Free Trade

Dr. Norman Girvan


Dr. Norman Girvan, an internationally acclaimed scholar and visiting professor with International Development Studies at Saint Mary's, will give a public lecture on free trade agreements and democracy on October 13.

Dr Girvan, a development economist, is the chair of numerous government commissions in the Caribbean and sits on numerous international organizations. He is a past Secretary-General of the Association of the Caribbean States (2001-2004).

 

His public talk, Are Free Trade and Democracy Compatible?: A Caribbean Lesson, will take place in the Sobey School of Business, Room 265 at 7 PM. Everyone welcome.
