Students Key to Future: Throne Speech


The provincial government's Throne Speech Thursday identified students as the cornerstone to future growth and promised more money for educational infrastructure.

In a presentation laying out the NDP government's vision for the next immediate future, the government indicated it will contribute $31.5 million over the next two fiscal years to support post-secondary infrastructure projects. It will also invest another $2 million in the Nova Scotia Community College to make room for 250 more students.

The speech also promises the governement will provide a tax rebate of up to $15,000 over six years to university graduates and up to $7,500 to college graduates who stay and work in the province.
