Sobeys Team Wins Research Challenge

A team from the Sobey School of Business will head to New York in March after winning the Atlantic Canada CFA Investment Challenge. Dr. Bill Bobey and Ross Hallett, academic directors of the IMPACT program, flank winning students Paul Kratz, Kyle Westhaver, Joel Snow, Andrew Walker and Sophia Cheong

 

A team of students from The Sobey School of Business’ Impact Fund won the Atlantic Canada CFA Investment Research Challenge for 2009.  The competition took place the weekend of November 26th and was sponsored by the Atlantic Canada CFA Society.  

As the winner of this year’s Regional Valuation Competition, the Team will now move on to New York to compete in March 2010.

The members of the winning team are:  Sophia Cheong, Paul Kratz, Joel Snow, Andrew Walker and Kyle Westhaver.

The Investment Management of Portfolios in Atlantic Canada Training (IMPACT) Program provides an elite group of students from the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University with practical, real world experience in money management.
