Media Release For Immediate Release September 30, 2008 Invasive species workshop to help Albro Lake-Harbourview Dr. Cathy Conrad, an Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Geography Department at Saint Mary’s University, will be one of the speakers at a public workshop about invasive species on Monday, Oct. 20 in Dartmouth. The workshop aims to address the concerns of residents of District 9, Albro Lake – Harbourview, who have been affected by aquatic invasive species and their impacts on Little Albro Lake. Early warning methods and community monitoring protocols will be discussed in an effort to preserve the health of Big Albro Lake through education in preventative measures. The 90-minute workshop will be held in the Dartmouth North Community Centre beginning a 7 p.m. There is no cost to attend. This workshop will be presented cooperatively by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources, Saint Mary’s University, the Halifax Regional Municipality and the Nova Scotia Department of the Environment.
