Saint Mary’s graduate named President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Canada

Saint Mary’s graduate Brian Fulton has been named the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz Financial Canada.

Effective June 1, Fulton, currently Managing Director for the Mercedes-Benz Financial East Business Center, will relocate to Toronto from New Jersey to become the President and CEO for the company’s Canadian organization. He will have full responsibility for the Canadian operations.

Fulton graduated from Saint Mary’s with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English and was also a member of the Huskies hockey team. His BA from Saint Mary’s is his only academic degree.

“It’s great to hear when BA grads from Saint Mary’s achieve successes like this,” said Dr. Esther E. Enns, Dean of Arts. She said it’s one thing to tell current students that the highest proportion of top executives and CEOs in Canada started their careers with a BA, but it’s far more convincing to have Saint Mary’s Arts alumni to illustrate the point.

“This degree proves to be a valuable way of developing creativity and lateral thinking – the qualities required for those at the top of organizations,” said Dr. Enns. “Brian Fulton seems to prove our point about the benefits of the intellectual mobility that a person gains from an Arts degree.”
