Gareth Akerman

The University community is deeply saddened by the death of Gareth Akerman.

Akerman, 36, died along with three other men when a Cessna 172 Skyhawk went down in a field about 80 kilometres from West Palm Beach on Thursday morning (March 13, 2008).

He was working on a six-month contract with Florida Atlantic University to study migratory birds.

He graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours) in Biology.
