SMU Wins Seven International Marketing Awards

Recruitment is a competitive environment for universities around the world. Saint Mary’s University continues to be recognized for its innovative and sophisticated approach to reaching prospective students.

The University’s established an award winning brand “One University. One World. Yours”.” which is the driving force behind the latest marketing awards released this week.

The Admissions Marketing Report, Atlanta, Georgia, has announced the winners of this year’s 23rd Annual Admissions Advertising Awards with seven going to Saint Mary’s: “the University of Choice for aspiring citizens of the world.”

The University’s “Where will you Go?” recruitment campaign has won four Gold Medals in the categories of TV, Newspaper, Radio, and Transit/Billboard Advertising. SMU also won a Silver Medal for overall Advertising Campaign and a Bronze Medal for Best Poster. 

The campaign was also recognized as “Best in Show” for its television advertisement which is described by judges as “…exhibiting the highest production standards, creativity and professionalism. They captured the attention and admiration of our panel of judges. We want to extend special congratulations to the people who were involved in putting these projects together. Your hard work has provided an exceptional contribution to the field of admissions marketing and advertising.


The “Where will you Go?” campaign was launched in 2006-2007 by the University with the assistance of Halifax based firm trampoline — an award-winning advertising, branding and design firm.

Saint Mary’s and trampoline also won a Gold Award and Silver Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), based in Washington, DC for SMUtube and the “Where will you Go?” video anthem last month.

Admissions Marketing Report, a product of HMR Publications Group, Atlanta, Georgia the leading marketing publication for higher education in the United States and beyond. Almost 4,000 higher education marketers read the publication each month.

The Admissions Advertising Awards is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the USA. This year, two thousand entries were received from more than one thousand colleges, universities and secondary schools from across the USA and several foreign countries.
