Heather Fitzpatrick is the new Director of Development

I am pleased to announce to members of the Saint Mary’s University community that Ms. Heather Fitzpatrick has assumed the role of Director of Development.

Heather brings an impressive array of skills and considerable talent to this key role at the University. She has two decades of fundraising experience within the education and health sectors. Among other leadership positions, Heather served as Managing Director at the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation before joining the team at the Saint Mary’s Development Office in 2001. Her past positions with both the Annual Giving and Development Departments have given her a comprehensive understanding of the goals and mission of the Development Office, and its important role within the University. Heather’s exceptional combination of knowledge and expertise are continually called upon as we further our advancement of this outstanding university.

A familiar face at many University events, Heather has given generously of her time and talents for the advancement of Saint Mary’s. In addition to leading our Hearts & Minds Capital Campaign, she has participated on various fundraising committees including Time for Wine and Time for Tea, two of the University’s most successful annual fundraisers in support of student financial aid. Outside Saint Mary’s, Heather has been an active member and volunteer for numerous organizations. She is also a gifted singer who, in addition to being active with her local church, has delighted audiences as a soloist at many University events including our spring and fall convocations.

Heather’s commitment to Saint Mary’s is evident in the way she and her staff strive to ensure that the University continues to grow and provide opportunities for our current and future students. Heather provides strategic direction to our Development Office as we continue to maintain our position as a leader in post-secondary education.

Heather’s dedication to Saint Mary’s is shared by her husband, John, who earned his BA from Saint Mary’s in 1981 and currently serves on the University Board of Governors.
