Media Release For Immediate Release February 1, 2008 Chamber Praises Santamarians The Saint Mary’s University community is thrilled to learn that three of its own were recognized by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce last evening. At the Halifax Chamber of Commerce Awards Ceremony, two students and one alumnus took home major awards for their leadership and success in business. Aly Rajab’s business, the Canadian Language Learning College (CLLS), was named the Small Business of the Year. Rajab is a student in the Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) program at the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s. Mike Beauchamp, who is the co-owner of Volt Media, accepted the New Business of the Year Award on behalf of his company. He is currently earning his Bachelor of Commerce Degree and is a popular student on campus. Boris Mirtchev (BSc ’96 & MBA ’99) won the Bronze Award for the Small Business of the Year for his Hamachi Group of Restaurants.
