SMU grad is a star at Yale University

Saint Mary's Astronomy and Physics alumnus Joel Tanner has been awarded the prestigious Sterling Fellowship at Yale University.

Only one fellowship per year is accorded.

Tanner graduated SMU last August after successfully defending his M.Sc. thesis, "Asteroseismology of Intermediate Mass Stars: Pre-main Sequence Evolution."

He entered the Ph.D. program in Astronomy at Yale University last fall.
