Want to be part of the scene? Then head to the mezzanine!

It's time for a workout (from front to back): Zach Churchill, President of the Saint Mary's University Students' Association (SMUSA); Dr. J. Colin Dodds, President of Saint Mary's; Gabrielle Morrison, Vice-President of Administration; and Dr. Dave Murphy, Director of the Athletics and Recreation Department.

Faculty, staff, students and alumni gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Tower on campus this afternoon to mark the opening of the new Cardio Room which is situated in the mezzanine area.

The facility, which cost almost half-a-million to construct, is equipped with top-notch and ultra modern work-out gear.

“The Cardio Room is an exciting chapter for the Tower,” says Dr. David Murphy, Director of the Athletics and Recreation Department at SMU.

“This major upgrade on our campus demonstrates our growth, and ensures that students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University have access to a state-of-the-art-facility which promotes healthy living,” he adds.

Dr. J. Colin Dodds, President of Saint Mary's, states: "This is a wonderful facility and many from the SMU community and the surrounding community will certainly benefit from what it has to offer."
