International Students at Saint Mary’s University
Saint Mary’s University welcomes students from over 90 countries to campus each year. We believe that your experience at Saint Mary’s University will help you to become a strong global citizen.
Will you be considered as an “international student” at Saint Mary’s University? This is an important question because it determines:
- your legal status as a student and/or employee in Canada, and the time needed to secure appropriate permits and visas
- the documentation we require for admission and possible recognition of credits earned at another university
- your costs for tuition.
You are not considered to be an international student if you have permanent residence status in Canada, regardless of your country of origin. But, no matter your status, Saint Mary’s is pleased to provide you with a full range of administrative and academic support services.
These web pages include information you need on issues of particular interest to international students.
