Campus Life

Whether you choose to live on campus or off campus, your experience at Saint Mary’s University is sure to be a great one.  Welcome to the Saint Mary’s campus community, where you’ll find the world in one city block. The connections you make in the classroom, as a member of a student society, or as a volunteer in the community will help you get where you want to go.

It’s important for your university degree to have a strong balance of academics and extracurricular involvements.  Make the most of your experience at Saint Mary’s University.  Why not volunteer with an on-campus organization, like the Random Acts of Kindness Squad?  Or make new friends with similar interests in a student society, such as the International Student Society, Criminology Society, or Environmental Society?  It's the connections that you’ll make through involvements like this that will help you build a degree and a resume that will launch you into your career after graduation.  There are lots of ways to find out more: talk to your professors, attend the Volunteer Fair in September, speak to students in class, and browse our website. Click here to meet the Saint Mary’s University Students’ Association and see just some of the student societies that you can get involved in!

Are you looking to earn some money while you learn? You’re not alone.  Approximately 75% of Saint Mary’s students combine their studies with part-time work.  There are more than 1,000 part-time jobs available on campus for students.  The Student Employment Centre, located on the fourth floor of the Student Centre, can help you find job postings and can assist with your resume, cover letter, and interview process.

Cheer on your fellow Huskies at one of our varsity athletics games or stay fit with your friends through intramural sports.  As a full-time Saint Mary’s student, you’ll have access to the Tower, our athletic centre on campus.  In addition to intramural sports, you’ll have access to a full gym and cardio theatre, running tracks, squash courts, and much more.  A healthy mind needs a healthy body, so find out more at the Tower website.
