INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT STUDIES

 

The Saint Mary’s University International Development Studies Program is seeking a qualified candidate for the following tenure-track position beginning in the academic year 2006-2007. The successful candidate will be appointed at the assistant professor rank in accordance with his or her qualifications and experience.

Applicants must have a completed or near-completed PhD, and must have teaching experience at the university level in the area of international development studies, or a closely related field. The selection committee will give preference to applicants with a specialization in environment and development, and a regional concentration in Latin America, although other specializations and regional concentrations may be considered.  The successful candidate must be prepared to teach Introduction to Development Studies and a module of the Program's mid-level Seminar in Development Studies. In addition to the foregoing, the successful candidate ideally will be able to teach the IDS Program’s regional area course on issues in Asian development and the seminar on environment and development.
