Introduction: ARGEIAD Newsletter

This is the second issue of the newsletter of Atlantic Research Group on Economics of Immigration, Aging and Diversity.

The group was established in February 2014 and is hosted by Sobey School of Business on Saint Mary’s University campus. Financial support for the group’s operational needs is provided by Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Government of Nova Scotia and Association of New Canadians (Newfoundland and Labrador). The group comprises university and non-university researchers, settlement organizations and other stakeholders located in Atlantic Canada. Its mandate is to promote research and knowledge mobilization focusing on national and regional dimensions of immigration, aging and diversity in order to uncover the facts about their economic significance. The first meeting of the group and its stakeholders was held on February 25, 2014. This newsletter is published on a quarterly basis and will include information on regional immigration trends, and related news and events. The next newsletter is scheduled to be published on October 1, 2014. Stakeholders are encouraged to provide their submissions by September 10, 2014.
