Gentle Movement (Cancelled)

Come move your body to the oldies! This class uses fun music that inspires you to dance in a way that feels natural for you, while we use toning balls, bender balls, and bands to release tight muscles and stiff joints. Bodyfit by Sonja

Personal Trainer, Group Fitness & Yoga Instructor Sonja Esber, designs fun-filled classes enjoyed by participants of all ages. This gentle boot camp style class includes, building cardiovascular endurance,   total body strength & flexibility training (primarily using your own bodyweight). Each participant works at their own fitness level. In this one-hour class, you get the best of both worlds.  First, a fast-paced 30 minute spin session that will get your heart rate up and blast caloriesFor the second half of class, hit the floor for some abdominal and core work, followed by a relaxing stretch.   An effective and safe workout for all levels! RickMyTrainer

This program will give you the flexibility to have a challenging workout multiple times a week without having to commit to a specific day in advance. Rick will be here Monday, Wednesday and Fridays so it will be easy to fit these workouts into your regular routine. One month rate gives you access to all 3 classes. Workout styles will include: plyometric based, circuit, core focused, stretching, and cardio just to name a few. All classes will make use of a wide variety of equipment. The objective of the program is to improve your fitness while burning off extra body fat. Rick Horsman is a passionate Fitness Leader and Personal Trainer who is committed to helping his clients achieve their best fitness, while staying safe and having fun. This will be the brightest and best time of your day - get your workout done before going to work! Shotokan Karate

The Saint Mary’s University Shotokan Karate Club offers the opportunity for members to train in a safe, inclusive class atmosphere where they can develop as martial artists whether their goals are to pursue greater levels of confidence, fitness, coordination, self-defence, or to pursue karate competitively. Led by Shannon Doane, 5th degree black belt, the SMU Karate Club is a member dojo of Karate Nova Scotia, a division of Sport Nova Scotia. HEART FOR LIFE!

Seniors Group Fitness Program

Specifically designed for post cardiac patients or for seniors who are interested in preventative heart health ( ie: high blood pressure, over weight, elevated cholesterol).  All fitness levels welcome. This program is ideal for patients who have either had, or are at risk of having, heart disease, heart attack, heart surgery or angina. Led and monitored by Certified Fitness Leaders and Nurses; Doctor or Self-referral. Ongoing throughout the year, join anytime.  Each class begins in the Community Room. Support partners are encouraged to attend the program (with member) at no additional charge.
