SMU Men's Baseball is made up of players from elite baseball programs in Canada and from other parts of the world. The Club is comprised of a minimum of 18 players who will travel to universities around Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI to play league and playoff games (see below for the Universities in our conference). The season consists of 14 regular games and up to 9 playoff games. Our season begins September 12th and we play two doubleheaders on weekends until the middle of October. Playoffs run until the end of October and we would play the conference leaders: the winning teams makes nationals. Playing four games per weekend can be physically challenging. Students interested in SMU Baseball should manage their time wisely, so they can remain committed to the team for the entire school year. For league stats, standings and schedule visit the league website at: http://ccba-abcc.ca
SMU Men's Baseball provides a high level of competitive baseball and we hope to see all who are interested in playing attend tryouts in September.

The Saint Mary's Baseball Team got off to a very good start to the 2015 season with 4 straight wins. They then leveled out and finished 4th in the division, qualifying for playoffs. In the first round they faces the undefeated Holland College Hurricanes, game 1 was a nail bitter that the Huskies came out on top of with a 1-0 win on the back of team captain and 2nd Team All Canadian Alex Ostrov who pitched a full 7 inning game giving up 4 hits and no runs. Holland College won game 2, so the 3rd and final game of the series was set for later in the week back in Halifax where Saint Mary's would be at home. The Huskies bats Exploded early to get out to a 9-2 lead. They eventually won 9-6 with Alex Ostrov pitching a full game again throwing 153 pitches. This qualified the Huskies for the conference finals, which they would eventually lose in the single game 4-3 in 12 innings. More importantly they qualified for the CCBA national tournament in Fredericton NB, this was the 3rd straight year that SMU had qualified for the nationals, losing in the semi finals the previous 2 years. The team would lose 3 straight heartbreakers and be knocked out early.
We will be losing a few key pieces to our lineup with some students graduating (Alex Ostrov, Jordan McClocklin, Greg Gott, Sheldon Taylor). That being said we still have a really solid team returning and we are looking to make it back to the National Tournament for a 4th straight season.
On a sadder note, the 5 year coach for the Saint Mary's Huskies, Cameron Marling lost his battle with cancer in early 2016. Cam was the drive behind the team for the past couple seasons and made a huge impact on the players, on and more importantly off the field. The team was with Cameron right till the very end and will forever hold him deeply in their hearts every time they put on that White and Maroon jersey. RIP Cameron
