(Residence Student Volunteer Program)
Helping you help others.
Volunteering is fun and it looks great on a resume. Through RSVP we have made it easy for you to help others and service your community.
Why is it so easy?
- We find all the opportunities for you!
- RSVP opportunities are short term commitments (like one afternoon not one semester)
- You can do as many or as little opportunities as you would like
- You only need to volunteer 10 hours to start receiving rewards
Run for the Cure
Every year, students, faculty and staff at Saint Mary’s University raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation through CIBC’s Run for the Cure. A team of Residence Assistants participate in the run each year. Annually, this group holds bake sales and “Pie/Wax Your RA,” as fundraisers for this cause.
Visit http://www.runforthecure.com/ for more information on the Halifax run!
Come out on Saturday mornings and show “Pride in Your Shared Neighbourhood” by participating in Trashformers!
Starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Loyola lobby, students split up into groups to clean up the roads in our neighbourhood. Every week you attend gets your name entered into a draw for great prizes! The floor with the highest participation will win a grand prize (ie. Go-karting). Click on our photo below to view our video!
Residence ambassadors show their rooms to potential new students and share stories of their residence experience with them!
This is a great opportunity to meet new people, show off your room and even earn co-curricular hours; great for your résumé! Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to be a champion of your residence (and earn volunteering credits in the process).
Pick up an application from the Centre for Housing & Residence Life or from your RA. Call Admissions and Recruitment at 496.8120 for more details!
