Huskies Get two wins from the visiting Panthers

In their 2nd of two games, Justine Colley hit the game winning basket with seventeen seconds left to propel the Saint Mary's Huskies over a gritty and determined UPEI Panthers team by a final score of 76-74 on Sunday afternoon at the Tower.

Colley (East Preston, N.S.) would finish with thirty points, eight rebounds, and seven assists on route to garnering Subway Player of the Game honours as the Huskies improved to 8-1, good for first place in the AUS conference.

Fifth year senior Susanne Canvin of Charlottetown had sixteen points and eight rebounds versus her former team while Lindsay Panchan added thirteen points for Saint Mary's.

Danielle MacDonald (Sydney Mines, N.S.) tallied fourteen points and ten rebounds and Jenna Jones (Riverview, N.B.) added fourteen points to lead the Panthers (1-7).

The Huskies led 37-32 at the half. Saint Mary's travels to Wolfville this Wednesday night to play the Acadia Axewomen in a battle of the top two teams in the conference standings. The game can be seen via webcast on ssncanada.ca.
