The 2010 recruiting season is already in high gear and the Huskies have started to add to their roster.
Locally Cody Lee an all-star linebacker from Sir John A MacDonald has committed to the program. Cody was a leader on a very good defense from Sir John A and is looking to make an immediate impact.
Returning to school after a couple of years away Blair Ryan will be enrolled in the Masters program here at Saint Mary’s University. He was a Vanier Cup champion at Laurier and former QEH Lion player.
Some high profile players have already made a commitment to the Huskies’ program and have started school in January. Nick Arment, the son of former Huskie and 2005 SMU Hall of Fame Inductee Frank Arment, has enrolled in classes and is preparing for the upcoming season. Nick was previously at University of Delaware and has been a medical red shirt the past year.
Lincoln Bryan a 6’2 310 defensive lineman from Toronto, Ontario who last year played with the South Surrey Rams has also started school in January and looks to add size and strength to the defense.
Two other offensive players Kevin Walsh who previously played at York University as a receiver and quarterback Micah Brown from Tampa, Florida will help sure up the offense. Both are very athletic with Micah also being able to play receiver.
Some new recruits for September include mammoth offensive lineman Sean Swanney from Calgary. The 6’6 315lbs tackle is a big addition to the program. He was very highly recruited out west and some schools from the states but, after a visit, believed Saint Mary’s was the place for him.
Cameron Stewart a 6’2 180 lbs. all-star receiver from Ottawa has also committed for September.
