Coach Chris Larade is very excited with the addition of two more recruits, defenseman Taylor Williamson from Spruce Grove, Alberta and Hilary Waugh from Lower Bedeque, PEI.

Williamson, a 5’6’’ defense played for the Edmonton Chimos Senior AAA team of the CWHL. It is expected she will play a big role on the blue line and will join friend and fellow Alberta native Chelsea Osbaldeston in the Huskies uniform this year.

Waugh , a 5’3’’ forward from the Capital District Cyclones Midget AAA system in PEI was a point per game player in her league and also represented PEI at the recent Canada Winter Games helf in Halifax last February. Waugh is a smart two-way forward who brings great energy, responsible play to the Huskies’ squad.

Coach Larade is excited to add both to this year’s team. “Both Taylor and Hilary will be great additions both on and off the ice. They are very mature, intelligent girls that will greatly impact our rebuild of the SMU women’s hockey program. Their game sense and overall play is exactly what we need in moving forward. They will be a great fit with what we are trying to do.”

The Huskies start regular season play on October 19th when they host the Dalhousie Tigers at 7 p.m. Alumni Arena.
