Wolfville, NS) Michael Stickland’s second period goal proved to be the winner as the Axemen drop to 2-4, losing 6-3 to the visiting CIS #5 ranked Saint Mary’s Huskies.

The Axemen held a 2-1 lead midway through the second period on goals Andrew Clark and Dustin Ekelman. Clark scored his fifth goal of the year 11:56 into the first period on a penalty while Ekelman scored six minutes later at 17:20 of the first period.

A pair of quick goals 47 seconds apart from Justin Wallingford and Shawn O’Donnell gave the Huskies 3-2 lead at the half way point of the second frame.

Acadia's Nick Emanuele scored his first of the season late in the third period, but at that point the Axemen trailed 5-3

Lucas Bloodoff, Michael Stickland, and a pair from Chris Mackinnon in the third rounded out the scoring for the Huskies.

The Huskies outshot Acadia only by a slim 31-28 margin and both teams were scoreless on the powerplay.
