Saint Mary’s University Women’s basketball Head coach Scott Munro is pleased to announce that NBIAA two time all-star Julie Hatcher will attend Saint Mary’s in the fall, to pursue her academic and athletic interests. “Julie is a winner and that is what we have been targeting in our recruiting from day one. She is a tough competitor and her record in high school speaks volumes about her ability to help us build on our success from this year.”

Hatcher helped lead Riverview High School ( NB) to back to back provincial titles in the last two years. Her team over the past two years had a record of 71-2. During her High school career she scored over 1300 points and collected over 1000 assists. She has also been a starter for the New Brunswick Under 15, Under 16 and NB Canada Games Team last summer. She is described by her high school coach as "one of the hardest working and most dedicated players that he has ever coached." "Julie is a very focused individual on the court and in the classroom." "She is a quiet but effective leader who prefers to lead by example.”

“ We expect Julie to have an immediate impact on our program. She has tremendous court vision and understanding of the game as well as being a terrific student in the classroom!” said Coach Munro.
