Question: What mark do you need in order to pass a class? what is a fail and what is a pass..

Answered by: Emma
Answer: 50% or D and above is considered a pass in courses. Check out this link to see how percentages relate to rating, grades, and GPA: http://www.smu.ca/academics/final-exams-gpa-calculation.html. You should also keep in mind that for some courses you must receive a certain mark (i.e. C or above) to count that course towards your major or to have the course suffice as a prerequisite for another course in your degree path. Definitely visit your Academic adviser if you are not sure about any of this, they are always happy to help students plan their degree and ensure they have everything they need.
