Question: Is Vanier A good residence to stay at my first year? Or should I go with loyola?

Answered by: Alyssa
Answer: I have lived in Vanier A for 4 years, and I have nothing but great things to say about it! All Vanier Houses are low rise, meaning they have between 1-3 flights of stairs and no elevator. I prefer this as it is faster to go to and from my room, and its easier to leave during fire alarms. Loyola's elevator can take a long time, especially at high traffic times. Vanier also has fewer people living on it, with 3 suites instead of 4. It's a very close-knit environment, which I think is great in first year! People who choose Loyola typically don't mind elevators, and may prefer the view of a high rise building. Both Loyola and Vanier typically house first years, so it really comes down to your personal preference! I can say from my personal experience, however, that living in Vanier is great!
