Question: Can I use the health from school anywhere in Canada apart from Hailfax?

Answered by: Emma
Answer: The health coverage that out student association, SMUSA, makes available is a great service to students. Keep in mind that sometimes If you are sick or injured and require medical attention from a doctor or hospital, you may need to pay upfront for the services you receive. You can then submit a claim if you are covered to get your money back. Unfortunately, I am not an expert on what the plan covers, and if you have domestic student coverage vs. international student coverage there may be differences. I'm not sure! You can contact the Health Plan office on campus at healthplan.smusa@smu.ca for more informed information. Also check out this link: https://www.internationalhealth.ca/smusa/162-make-claim with more information on how to make a claim. They also have a live support option on this website in the upper right corner of the screen. During business hours you can chat with someone there about your questions.
